As promised

I delivered my most favorite pair of overalls to date!! The whole family loved the work, especially Mom and Jordyn. :0)
One little "Trevorness" though. I took at least 20 pictures of J in her new o'alls and Lins snapped a couple of J & I. Went to review the pics and DOH!!! Left the memory card in my pc. I have to reschedule a little photo shoot with Jordyn.
Here are the pictures I snapped before I dropped them off:

Sorry so many pictures!! I have a background in eBay selling and that requires a bazillion pictures in a listing so prospective buyers can see the details up close. I guess thats why I show so many of my work here, so prospective buyers can see my work. The care I put into each detail. My choice of colors and fabrics to compliment each persons item.

Just a Teaser...

I just realized I have been so busy this past week (and a little lazy, too) that I have not made a post!!
I am getting ready to bring Jordyn her 7 Lakes Overalls for Homecoming next week. I made these different from the others.. colors, design etc.
I will post pictures later!! For now, here is a sneek peek

I have six, five,  four openings left for your custom heirloom quality overalls.  You are welcome to reserve a spot in my line up HERE with a $25 paypal deposit. I will apply the deposit to your final cost. REMEMBER: I need your overalls no later than this coming Monday, October 17, 2011. We need to consult and DESIGN the overalls in a short meeting. Each pair I try to make different than the others in the group. Fabric choices, personalization. Anything can be done. These overalls are a statement of the child and are personal. They are made to LAST for all 4 years of High School and beyond. You will NOT have to invest in another pair, as I do not use any paint that will be sticky or crack. I STITCH around all raw edges of fabric so they will not peel or fray. You definitely get your money's worth here.
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to meeting you!!

PS After browsing the internet last night and stumbling on some pictures, I had to be reminded that "Imitation is the finest form of Flattery" Thanks, Dad.

What I Did Today

I made a custom Baby Quilt for a friend of mine. Her friend is due to pop any day now, so I had to get a move on. I just love when I have a whole day to devote to one project. I can focus!! ((If you want or need a custom Baby Quilt, leave me a message and we can talk about what you need, time frame and price))

Handmade is Best

Why Buy Handmade?
Buying Handmade makes for better gift giving.
The giver of a HANDMADE GIFT has avoided the parking lots and long lines of the big chain stores in favor of something more meaningful. If the giver has purchased the gift, s/he feels the satisfaction of supporting an artist or crafter directly. The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one-of-a-kind, and made with care and attention that can be seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing.
Buying Handmade is better for people.
The ascendancy of chain store culture and global manufacturing has left us dressing, furnishing and decorating alike. We are encouraged to be consumers, not producers, of our own culture. Our ties to the local and human sources of our goods have been lost.
Buying handmade helps us reconnect.
Buying Handmade is better for the environment.
The accumulating environmental effects of mass production are a major cause of global warming and the poisoning of our air, water and soil. Every item you make or purchase from a small scale independent artist or crafter strikes a small blow to the forces of mass production.
Thank you for purchasing KraftyMommas, always original and Handmade!

It's Friday!!!

....and along with that, a little breathing for me!! *Maybe*
Lots to do still and lots to share today!
First, today is the last day to order Homecoming Overalls for Mayde Creek High School. Your Homecoming is just 2 weeks away!! Time to get your hustle on!! LOL
Second, the Girls and I went to a Morton Ranch football game a couple weeks ago. We had a blast! It was an all day event for us... I set aside my sewing tasks for the day and we created our own MRHS tees. We did not get any good pics of the game, but we got a couple of shots of the tees before we left.

The game itself was fun and the girls learned some things  about the sport. But the halftime show was amazing!! Both bands made a great showing of their field shows and we were impressed!! I know my HS field show was never as intricate nor as well displayed. We were more of a street/parade band, and we scored VERY well in band reviews. These shows we saw were very precise and I can see many of these kids moving up to the likes of any Drum and Bugle Corps. It was very refreshing, to say the least.
Third. I made some Katy Tiger Denim Jackets a few weeks ago and neglected to share them with you... So, here they are, LOL

Lastly, but much more recent, I put the finishing touches on some Cinco Ranch Homecoming Overalls yesterday, and I snapped a few pics to share with you before making my deliveries. I sure hope Cinco wins their game tonight!!! Go Cougs!!

Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend... I have so much I have neglected around here I need to catch up on... The mountain of laundry and the grass that has not been mowed in over a month!! (I just giggle every time Rosie goes out to do her business and cannot find a place cuz the grass tickles her heiney.. o.O)
