Hurricane Tradition

Its seems a bit silly, but it makes this whole ordeal of waiting for the hurricane to get here, that much easier. We did it while we were waiting for Rita and the outcome was like "Good Luck". If THAT is possible.
When we cut the wood to board up the house, we decided that one piece needed to have a small peep hole, or two. One for us adults and one for the kids. It will be the last piece of wood we screw in, so we decided that while playing the waiting game, we would decorate it and tell our hurricane *where to go*.
Here is the side we did for Rita in 2005:

Yesterday, we flipped it over and began to tell Ike *where he could go*.

I think it is a good idea to keep things light here with the kids, let them be involved and know what is going on. We all know what this storm has the possibility of doing to us and our friends and family. But with Scott pacing like a caged tiger, it is hard to NOT tell the kids whats happening. LOL
God has his hands on us and will take care of us. I have no worries. I have been reassured.
