Fishin' With Jack

Behind every wife is a DH that has their "Thing" they do.
Yard work, football coach, gambler.... A guy thing they enjoy regularly.
Well my DH, Scott, fishes in a Kayak. In the Gulf of Mexico. In the Ship Canal. In the bayous. His "yak" is a 16 foot Mango Tarpon. He trolls and paddles most every Saturday beginning before sunrise until the early evening, usually with his buddy Dustin.
Every weekend I am inundated with stories, photos and videos of the weekend catch, usually Redfish, Flounder and Speckled Trout. Our local delicacies.
This weekend, the boys ventured just outside the Ship Canal and followed the jetties out past the brackish waters. Under them, traveled a school of Jack Cravalle!! Holy $&*@!!
Let the games begin!!! The boys got some 30+ pound Jacks and enjoyed the fight!! Each fish took 30 minutes to an hour to get into the yaks.... Can you imagine being pulled around the Gulf by a fish on a pole?? LOL Here are some pics of the prizes the guys caught. (We only catch and release)
My handsome Hubby is the one wearing a yellow shirt and driving the mango (orange) yak!!!

Busy, busy, busy

I feel like putting a busy signal, like on a phone, on my blog. LOL I keep trying to blog pretty regularly, but I get so busy with life sometimes, I forget.
I can say with a chuckle (cuz a lot of you KNOW me) that I have been so busy for the past few weeks, that I am sooooooooooooo DISORGANIZED I can't even confront cleaning my studio.
Here are my excuses for having such a messy area:
*The Craft Show (My one-man-band, LOL)
*Last minute rush orders
*Orthopedic appointments (2-3 hours?? OMG!!)
*My phone ringing off the hook
*My son's bicycle accident
*Babin's
*Sleep??
and last but NOT least,
*A cold. Rats.
So, I'll leave you with a few pictures of the past few days including a couple of my show set up.

An interview with a Pink Zebra Model

KMB: Hi Kate, would you like to introduce yourself?
Kate: Well, I am Kate Marie Kindle and I am 3 months old. I have 3 older brothers, and a Momma and a Daddy.
KMB: Three big brothers, huh? How is that??
Kate: Hmmm, I really like having big brothers.
KMB: Do you have a favorite?
Kate: I love to sit with Parker in the mornings and watch TV. He is so snuggly and safe. But then Brett likes to bounce around like a maniac, and he's so much fun. Crew likes to kiss me like a big 'ole wet puppy dog.... So it is hard to decide on a favorite. They are all perfect brothers in their own way!!
KMB: That's great, Kate!! How about a favorite color? Are you into Fall's new trends??
Kate: Pink!! I love PINK!! My favorite animal pattern for the Fall is Zebra. It goes with so much and I think it's a bit on the w-i-l-d side!!
KMB: We love Zebra here too!!! Can you leave us with some inspiring words for other aspiring baby models??
Kate: Always keep trying! I am working really hard to get turned over so Mommy does not have to help me anymore. Keep smiling and giggling at the world and they will smile back!!
KMB: Thank you Kate, for your modeling and your inspirational words!! I hope to see you on the circuit again soon!!

Of Halloween Past

As I have told you before, Halloween is most favorite Holiday ever!! I sure wish my scanner would perform for me, as I could share some of my pictures of Halloween past and some of my most prized Halloween costumes. Including: a Rat (complete with a top hat and red bow around the tail), a penguin (with orange swim fins!! LOL) and a Jester!!
Oh well, I can bore you with pictures from the last two Halloweens!! First, my most extravagent costumes for the girls and I, Pirates. I went all out and had such fun creating the personas when sewing and then getting together all the accessories. Including loot bags with pirate monies!! I even won the top prize at Babin's for best costume.

My son was a Monster Drink can!!! When he asked to be a can of drink, at first I was stumped.... But then I realized that with fabric and spray adhesive, I could make just about anything!!!!

Last year, I strove to better my chances of winning again at Babin's by becoming a Chicken for a day!!! LOL It was HOT as an oven, but well worth it. Just to see the looks on peoples' faces as I drove around with my feathers flapping in the breeze, lol. :0)
I did win!! I outted the Joker!! LOL
This year, at Babin's, "It's ON" as Robby tells me. I have to come up with something BIGGER and BETTER than last years costumes... I have the idea, but I don't think it will beat his this year. Robby will be the Penguin from the latest Batman movie. He is a total shoe in!! And my fiercest competetor. LOL He is working to beat me and I am working to beat him. It is fun to be competetive!!! Go Robby!! And go me!!

Oh, yea, last years Chicken costume!!! And the girls wanted to be Dracula..... No imagination there, but they loved it!!!!
